June Door County Trip 2011

Last weekend, we enjoyed our first trip to Door County this summer. The weather was awesome for June (although the mosquitoes were bad) and we found plenty of things to keep us busy. We visited with Grandma and Grandpa Graham, Jude, Brad, and Karissa, went to the beach, played at parks, went out to dinner & ice cream, played mini-golf, played Uno, played legos, and just relaxed. I got to go on a few bike rides with my dad and Brad which was awesome, and Chris got to go for a few runs. We watched a couple of movies too. All in all, it was a wonderful long weekend!

Andy LOVED playing at the beach this year. I think he could have played in the sand and water all day...

Emily, on the other hand, is not at the best age for the beach. If we would set her down, she would probably just try to eat the sand! But she liked being carried and putting her toes in. She also sat on the blanket and played with toys for awhile.

Jack loved the superhero beach toys this year.

Emily liked "holding" baby Jude!

Jack had an awesome time in Door County. He took a few naps, but was still was so busy that after the Tuesday we got home, he slept from 3:45 pm to 7:15 am!!!!

Grandma and Grandpa with some grandkids :)

Andy (and the rest of us) really liked playing Uno this trip. He was very good, and enjoyed making people draw cards.

Andy loved talking to Jude

Grandma and Emily - Emily sporting some crazy hair! These pictures are all from my mom's camera. She got some good ones :)

Andy enjoyed minigolfing. Jack's attention span isn't quite there for it yet.

Emily - growing up too fast!!!

Emily is looking less like a baby and more like a toddler everyday. She's now trying to pull herself up to sitting or standing while holding on to things. And of course she knows how to crawl around everywhere, finding things she shouldn't be playing with. Time to really baby proof!

Oshkosh Menominee Park Fun

We had an awesome trip to Menominee Park in Oshkosh today. It looked pretty nice outside when we woke up, so I decided to take the kids out for some spontaneous fun. We had never been to this park before, and were pleasantly surprised with all that there was to do. We started out at the big wooden playground, then went to the small zoo, then back to the playground, then the train ride (very fun, even for Emily! the boys loved the tunnel), the carousel, and the spinning amusement park ride. Throw in some yummy snacks, including slushies, and the boys had a very fun time. It was not busy at all, which was so nice. We were there for almost 4 hours. Then, all 3 kids napped on the way home - and Andy and Jack napped on the couch for another hour after that. A memorable day to kick off the summer season! Emily's 9 month check-up

Emily had her 9 month well-child appointment today. She's growing well! Here are her stats:
Weight: 19 lb 8 oz (60%)
Height: 28" (62%)
Head: 44.3 cm (57%)

Last visit she was higher on the weight curve, but now that she is crawling all over the place, she's slimmed down a bit. Her cheeks are still nice and chunky though :) She now has 3 teeth, with the second top one coming in soon. She was happy during her whole check-up, and didn't even need shots this time. Yay! Here are some pictures of our sweet 9 month old Emily...

Checking out her toys.... I finally got her to play with a few of her own. Usually she is only happy when she is playing with the boys' toys.

It's a beautiful, yet quite windy, day today! We played at the park for an hour after the doctor, then brought Chris some lunch to eat outside his office.

Jack is sporting some new goggles today :)

Hopefully we can get outside more this afternoon! I brought my bike and trainer out to the deck and rode for a half hour yesterday while Emily napped. It was actually pretty awesome to be outside instead of the basement. Plus, I let both of the boys spray me with water from their spray bottles (a fun "toy" for 3-5 year olds in hot weather) so I stayed nice and cool.
