Football Sunday with Grandma Reinsel and Great Uncle John

We had a fun day yesterday when Grandma Reinsel and Great Uncle John came to visit for the day. We cheered on the Steelers and got our favorite pizza from Stuc's for lunch. The boys enjoyed some huge iced cookies in the shape of pumpkins and they had a great time playing. Emily got to meet Uncle John for the first time and he really got her smiling (see pictures below!) Jack had to take a nap around 2 because he was exhausted, but Andy played with Grandma Reinsel all the way up to the minute they left.

Here's one picture from Saturday night - Jack saying a big cheese, eating his apple, and checking out Emily.

A nice picture of Grandma Reinsel and Emily (besides the red-eye - I tried to photoshop it out, but it wasn't getting rid of it correctly. I'll have to try with another program)

And a close-up of her being smiley :)

Emily is now 2 months old :)
She loves the blinking colorful light on her activity gym now...

And, since Andy was not in the mood for pictures yesterday, here's one of him this morning (still in his football jersey from last night) He was having a great time playing football in the hallway upstairs with Chris last night. He's really getting good at throwing and catching.

Awww, She Looks like a Purple Dinosaur!

That's what Jack said when he saw Emily sitting in her stroller outside :) She looks even softer and cozier than a dinosaur - more like a little purple teddy bear. She was nice and warm when we played outside this morning. It was 50 degrees, but the wind was a little chilly and since Emily was awake, I knew she wouldn't want to be covered in her carseat. She sat up in the stroller for the first time and liked looking around while moving.
Ready to spend a little bit of time outside

"What is this hood-thing I'm wearing?"
Jack liked playing in our small leaf pile that we raked up
Andy filling up Jack's car with gas and with air for the tires.
Emily was just watching everything going on
The boys played with chalk for awhile. Jack likes coloring in trucks that I draw, and Andy drew a monster face all by himself
All of that stroller riding tires a little girl out...
Nap time continued for another 2 and a half hours inside... who wouldn't want to sleep in that fleece outfit? Seriously, it looks so cozy. I did unzip her after taking this picture, so she wasn't too warm.

A Busy Thursday

We did a lot of running around today. Andy had a short day at school due to conferences. So, Emily, Jack and I got the grocery shopping done and then hung out at a kids' play area/coffee shop until it was time to pick him up.

Here we are at the Mom & Pop Shop. Jack loved the train table best.

Here's Emily patiently waiting for her bottle.
Jack ate an apple and then played more with the train table. (I had hot chocolate - yum! Tasted good on a chilly fall morning)
After picking up Andy, we went home and unpacked the groceries. The boys ate lunch, watched an Imagination Movers, and then we went back to Andy's school for his conferences. Basically it was just a short meeting with the teacher to discuss what his "starting" skills are for the school year. He's doing really well with writing his letters and I saw a very cute self portrait that he drew completely on his own. They save these papers and then compare them to the same project that they do again in May. Andy really likes school and plays well with the other kids. Sometimes he says "I can't" before even trying, which we have to work on. He also doesn't like singing during music time (unlike Jack) but they say he is paying attention and listening well during it. Jack doesn't have parent/teacher conferences yet - he'll start them next year. On the way home from school, we stopped at a park to play outside for 15 minutes until Emily woke up.
Here's Andy starting to explore the equipment
Showing off his favorite part of the park - the big rock he can climb on.

Jack climbing up (he decided to wear that coat today because it was just like Andy's - "we match!" he said)
Peeking out of the train
On an animal safari train
Jack wanted to try climbing the "spiderweb"
Good job Jack, hang on tight!
Here's Andy laughing about Jack's hat hair in the van :)
We got home around 2, I fed Emily, and then we played with her on the activity gym. If she's looking bigger to you, she definitely is. They had a baby scale at the Mom and Pop shop - she weighed 12lbs 5 oz with her clothes on!!! I'm very curious to see what she weighs next week officially at her doctoer's appt.
Look at that tummy...
She's starting to relax her clenched fists. She grabbed onto her little stuffed lamb today - probably by accident, but it's still good.
Some attention from her brothers...
Here she is checking out Jack
A tiny little smile
Jack saying cheese for meAnd a bigger (slightly blurry) smile :)

Tomorrow we have nothing planned during the day, so we should be able to relax and just hang out :)

Halloween Preview and Big Smiles from Emily

Last night, Andy decided he wanted to try on his Karate uniform. I couldn't get him to wear it for his lessons, but he was excited to try it last night. He then performed lots of karate for us and decided that he is going to be a Super Karate Guy for Halloween, not Batman anymore. So we'll see if that holds! When Jack saw that Andy was dressing up, he had to as well. So Jack wore his Superman and Batman costumes. I think Jack liked Batman the best, so that's what I'm thinking he will end up choosing for Halloween. They were pretty cute! (Our living room was a disaster area last night, so just disregard the toys everywhere)

Getting set
A big karate kick!
Here's Superman Jack

And his favorite costume - Batman with his "sunglasses" Jack would say "Is it a lizard Mommy?" then "No, it's me, it's just Jack!" I think he thought he looked like a lizard with the goggles on. Since Andy was being a supervillain, Jack decided he was a bad guy too. But Jack said his superpower was killing spiders, so that's okay by me.
It's just Jack!

And, this morning after dropping the boys off from school, Emily was in a very good mood! She was smiling so big, also showing off her double chin :)
