Emmie's First Haircut

Emily got her first haircut today! She did wonderfully. She's been to this place at least 10 times already, watching both of the boys get their haircuts here. She really just needed a good trim in back, since her hair was really uneven - some pieces being halfway down her back when wet, it looked like she had a little tail!

We started with emily in the little elephant. She was a little nervous and did not look thrilled. Maybe she was mad that she was wearing an old sweater of Jack's (I think I was feeling sentimental when I got Emmie dressed, remembering when Jack got his first haircut)

Combing out her hair...

Holding onto a little teddy bear, a couple of tears in her eyes, but she didn't cry...

Just evening out the length, and then ending with some long layers...

She was too short for the elephant, so she moved to the jeep. Her spirits lifted once she was in the jeep and she had fun riding in it while her hair got cut. The sucker definitely helped her mood too :) (Another reason for the red sweater - I knew I'd be bribing her with sticky sweets!)

Just another day at the salon...piece of cake!

Tada! Haircut complete with cute little pigtails

Time to pick a prize for being so good! What to pick.... (yes, the boys definitely each picked the blow-up snake sword - no question!) But Emily picked yummy, sticky cotton candy. From this picture, you can kind of see the back of her hair. Still pretty long, and I love the curls that happened naturally!

Mmmm.. messy!

The boys got haircuts too - same cuts as usual for each of them. They were good as always. So now we're officially ready for Christmas :)

Christmas in Neenah 2011

We celebrated Christmas with our immediate family this weekend. The kids had a blast and Santa brought them some fun toys to play with. This past week, we made Christmas cookies on Wednesday. Jack was my big helper with that! Andy had his first sick day home from school on Thursday. Poor guy was so knocked out that he slept about 95% of the day on Thursday and then went to bed at 6pm. I got lots of cute pictures of their kids in their jammies on "Christmas Eve" I have to laugh because I tried SO hard to get Jack to wear some holiday pj's. Finally, as he was crying and saying "But I think Santa will like the S on my shirt, S is for Santa!!" I gave in and let him wear his Superman shirt and spiderman pants. The kids have been playing really well together with all of the toys (you'll see pics of the boys showing Emmie how to use her topsy-turny amusement park) All of the kids (and Bailey) have been playing in the firehouse. And Jack got a really cool Transformers Playdough kit that the boys have been using a lot too. This week, we'll be getting ready to travel to Madison and Delafield for Christmas celebrations there. Andy has school all week and then has his holiday party in class on Friday. Jack has no school, so he can be my helper with the last minute details left.

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year, spending time in both Delafield and Madison. We enjoyed time with family, went to the children's museum & out to Paisan's for lunch in Madison, drove through the special Christmas lights display and visited the toy train display in Delafield, played board games, and watched movies. The kids enjoyed a long weekend away from home, getting lots of time to be spoiled by their grandparents and playing with cousins! I'll let the pics speak for themselves! (they are a little out of order)

Piggy Back Rides and Children's Museum

Emily got a fun piggy back ride from Andy, with some daddy assistance, last week. She loved it, and so did he :)

On Friday, I took Jack and Emily to the Children's Museum in the morning. There was almost nobody there, and it was so nice to see both Jack and Emily really enjoying themselves!

They both really loved the water play area this time.

I have a feeling we'll be coming back here a lot this winter when the weather is bad!
