I have been such a slacker on this blog - it's been a month since I've posted, I can't believe it! Things have been busy, what can I say? So, I'll start out by listing what we have done since mid-June. Then I'll try to catch up and post a bunch of pictures, starting out with a slideshow at the end of this post.
1) Chris and I ran in the Madison Half Marathon over Memorial Day weekend with his sister Sarah and our sister-in-law Marianne. It was extremely tough, but very fun! We're already talking about running in one again in the fall.
2) The boys got their hair cuts again :) - this time a little shorter for Jack.
3) We visited with lots of family over Memorial Day weekend which was great!
4) My dad and I completed the Trek 100, a 100 mile bike ride on June 6, in 50 degree weather and rain. Again very tough, but it had been a few years since we had done one, so I was extremely happy with our finish!
5) We spent a few days in Door County, although in the rain and cold weather. We got caught up on board games & bridge with Ryan and Marianne. And the boys loved playing with their cousin Ben.
6) I am working my last couple of weeks at Kimberly Clark, soon to become a stay-at-home mom on July 1!!!!! I have really enjoyed my career at K-C, but am so excited to be able to be home for Andy and Jack :)
7) Jack is walking!! He really started going right at the beginning of June and is really walking well now. He also loves climbing (stairs, up to the couch, playground equipment, on top of Andy and Bailey...)

Jack is 1!
- At his 1 year appointment yesterday Jack checked out great - he is 25 lb 4 oz (83%), 31 inches (85%) and head circumference is 47.5cm (81%). He's big, but nicely proportioned! He was talking and smiling away at the doctor's office, until he had to get his 4 shots :( But he recovered nicely and slept well last night.
- Jack is saying Mama, Dada, Night Night, Andy, and waving hi & good bye. I think he may also be saying dog too, but I'm not positive.
- He's cruising while holding onto furniture, standing on his own, and starting to take 1 or 2 steps towards us. Definitely not walking yet, but he's getting closer! I do believe he is the world's fastest crawler though!
- Jack likes to play catch with balls, play with Andy's toys, play outside in the sand table, and go for runs in the jogger stroller. He loves tormenting Bailey (pulling his hair) and trying to get into mischief (climbing up stairs, playing in Bailey's water, putting his hand in the potty, finding things to put in his mouth, etc!)
- Jack has 8 teeth (4 on top 4 on the bottom) and has already gotten 1 haircut. We'll be getting another one before his pictures are taken!
- Jack is full of smiles and loves to be carried and jumped! He likes to have books read to him, but really doesn't just sit still in your lap for very long. He needs to move!
- He is a great eater and really not picky at all. He loves lasagna, peas, mashed potatoes, banana bread, yogurt, diced peaches, and many other foods. He's starting to drink well from his sippy cup and we are going to try to transition him off of his bottle soon.

Catching Up!
We've had a busy week here and I've taken over a hundred pictures - probably the usual for us in a week, but it feels like there was a lot going on. Andy had his 3 year doctor's appointment this week (a little late) and checked out great. No shots so it was an easy visit. He is 39 inches tall and 34 pounds exactly. That's 78 and 72% respectively, so he's about where he has been in visits past! He answered all of the doctor's questions and she was impressed that he is potty trained. We've got Jack's 1 year appointment coming up next week - it'll be good to get that done with, because I believe he does get shots :(
The boys have been busy enjoying some nice weather outside - lots of running around, playing at the sand & water table, and going to the park. Today we went to Highcliff State Park and went for a 2.5 mile hike. Andy did awesome - he hiked the whole way on his own, and had enough energy to run around at the playground there for another half hour. He was in a good mood the whole time which was so much fun. He and I were "hiker buddies" so we held hands the whole way - lots of rocks and roots that we had to look out for so he didn't trip. Chris had Jack in the backpack - and Jack also did really great. We thought he would sleep the whole time since we went around his nap time, but even though his eyes did get heavy, he just babbled the ENTIRE hike. He was the most talkative one of all of us! It was a beautiful, fun day. We went out to eat at Panchero's (like QDoba) afterwards and then headed home. The boys both took a great 2 plus hour nap... so nice!
We then took the opportunity to put together Jack's new Little Tikes Playhouse outside. After some struggle in the assembly phase, it was finally done. Andy had more fun with it than Jack did, but it's something that Jack will definitely get to love as he starts walking this summer. I didn't get pictures of that - will post those later. Jack has become quite the little climber - climbing on all of Andy's chairs and then sliding down. He also continues to put everything in his mouth - corn on the cob, sand, toy pieces etc. Other random things this week: Jack has started to go right up to the TV during the Intro of Backyardigans and dances along, Andy & Jack did great at the Y during our volleyball game this week - no sitter needed, and we also got the boys to take a long nap at the same time yesterday - enough time for me to go for my long run & make dinner. Jack has started to say "Nigh, Nigh" when we're getting ready for bed and telling him good night. Andy did great at soccer practice yesterday too. We had a productive weekend! Looking forward to another great week.

Riding Tandem
Jack was riding on his rocking dog one evening this week, and Andy thought it would be fun to climb on too. This made Jack think it was even more fun :)
