Fun Summer Stuff

In the last week it seems we've packed a lot of our favorite summer activities in. We had a really nice Father's Day on Sunday - very low-key, the boys gave Chris his gifts (a handpainted mug from Andy and a polo shirt from Jack) and we spent some time outside. On Saturday, we went to a cool bridge for the boys to explore, to the water fountains, and to the Farmer's Market. Jack isn't a huge fan of the water fountains, but Andy loves them this summer. On Saturday night, Andy slept outside in the backyard in the tent with Chris. He slept really well out there. Jack went inside the tent briefly, but soon wanted to come back out because it was "too scary."

We also went to Heckrodt Nature Preserve twice, once with Chris and once with some friends. Both times, the boys spent a couple of hours there just exploring and playing. They love the turtles, frogs and other animals. In the middle of the week on a rainy day we went to the Children's museum with friends, and we had so much fun! Jack is finally old enough to really enjoy playing there. Andy would have liked to do more art with his friend Ethan, but Jack was happier playing in the crane, fire truck, and airplane. Other things this week keeping us busy have been: throwing water balloons, kiddie camp for Andy, watching Toy Story 2, reading tons of books, jumping on Bailey's couch, and playing at the park. Andy has been having fun playing outside with the neighbor boys, who are about 10 years old. He of course thinks they are SO cool, and they are really nice to him. Jack is continuing to talk more and more. He is putting sentences together all of the time now and likes to tell stories about what he has done recently. He's talks most about riding the tractor to go strawberry picking and about going to see the turtles at the Nature Preserve.
