Jump Rope For Heart - Thank you!!!!!

Andy and Jack participated in Jump Rope for Heart right before spring break.  They were very excited for the event and they each raised over $200 for the very good cause.  Thank you so much to our family members who donated money.  The boys were thrilled with each donation they received and they really appreciated it.  I was shocked to hear how much their school raised..... over $15,000!!!  (last year was around $13,000 - they broke a new record this year and are again the highest raising school in Racine County)   The kids broke out in cheers when their gym teacher announced it.

Emily and I came to watch the event.  All of the kids are out on the playground at the same time, but they stayed with their classes.  They were jump roping for over an hour, and the weather was pretty nice - about 50, partly sunny.

We found Jack's class first.  The first surprise was that Jack lost a tooth at school that morning at snack time!  I was shocked because I did not think that tooth was ready to come out (he had lost his first tooth about 2 days before at home, it was just hanging there)  He said that at school he bit into a cookie and it just got really loose, was bleeding, and he needed to pull it.  He was so brave.  He got to go to the nurse and get a little treasure chest to put it in.
Jack did a really good job at jumping; he got about 3-4 jumps in a row!

Emily and I went to find Andy next with his class.  He was having fun with his friends.  He did get 8-10 jumps in a row!

One big excitement at this event is that the Brewers Racing Sausages come to it!   Andy enjoyed giving high fives to them.  This sausage below was pointing at Andy's Star Wars shirt - he liked it!
Jack's class got a picture with all of the guys!  Here's Jack with a big smile on his face.
You can barely see him in this photo... but that's his class!

And because the boys raised over $150, they each got to race one of the sausages around the playground.  On your mark, get set, GO!!!!  (Andy is 3rd from the right, Jack is on the far right)

Andy took this race VERY seriously!

Jack ran as fast as he could, but started out towards the back.  He tried to catch up to that sausage and wants to beat him next year!

He ran his fastest and did awesome!
Emily was so good during the whole event - but she really did not like the big Brewers sausages.  I was carrying her a lot, she did not want them anywhere near her.  So afterwards, when all was done and the kids had gone back inside, she finally had fun playing on the playground!

And, I don't know what she has all over her face in this picture, but she and Andy were so cute here anyways.
So, Jump Rope for Heart was a HUGE success thanks to everyone's generous donations.  Thank you!!!!  The kids were so proud.  The money was raised for such a good cause.  We are hoping that everyone can find some time this spring to get some exercise and keep their hearts healthy too!
